Based
on the 1933 380K straight-eight , single
overhead camshaft engine, by Hans Nibel.
The supercharger is activated by fully
depressing the accelerator, returning
120 hp.
Superseded
in 1934, by the 500K, with the engine
enlarged to 5 litres. Power output increased
to 160 hp, capable of 100mph (160km/h).
Replaced
in 1936 by the 540K, the engine was further
increased to 5.4 litres, attaining 105
mph (169km/h).
